HELENA, Mont. -  Governor Steve Bullock released the following statement after a briefing today from the incoming incident commander of the 3,500-acre Roaring Lion Fire near Hamilton, as well as with Ravalli County Sheriff Chris Hoffman and Commissioner Greg Chilcott:

"We're keeping a close eye on the Roaring Lion Fire and the tough work of all who are putting themselves in danger to protect lives and property,” said Governor Steve Bullock.  “I'm receiving continuous updates, and Montana stands ready to provide whatever it takes to guarantee safety and get the upper hand on this wildfire. Lisa and I are keeping in our prayers all firefighters and Montanans in harm's way."

Governor Bullock is also closely watching the activities and resource needs of the two other larger wildfires near Thompson Falls and Miles City and will support these communities if needed.
