Governor Steve Bullock recognized today as “Manufacturing Day” in the state of Montana and celebrated the state’s manufacturing sector as the fastest growing in the nation.
“Not only are more Montanans working than ever before, unemployment remains low, and wages are increasing, we also lead the nation in manufacturing growth,” said Governor Bullock. “When we invest in our workers, we invest in our future – and manufacturing in Montana is reaching incredible heights thanks to the hard work and ingenuity of Montanans all across the Big Sky.”
Last month, Governor Bullock presented the 2017 Labor Day Report which highlights Montana as the fastest growing state for manufacturing GDP in the nation. Manufacturing in Montana grew by over 10% in the last year and added 380 jobs. Overall, manufacturing produced $3.2 billion to the state’s GDP in 2016, over $1.2 billion more than the industry’s 2011 contribution.
National Manufacturing Day is a celebration of modern manufacturing and occurs on the first Friday in October. Manufacturers in Montana are celebrating this day with 29 events across the state. Find a detailed list of events here.
