Governor Bullock Announces Montanan Nominated to Serve on National Park System Advisory Board

Governor Steve Bullock today announced that he has nominated Tom Towe of Billings, Montana for consideration to serve on the National Park System Advisory Board. 

“I am pleased today to nominate Tom Towe for consideration to serve on the National Park System Advisory Board,” said Governor Bullock. “Tom is a passionate and dedicated advocate for our park systems in Montana. Tom will work tirelessly to protect these national treasures and ensure they remain an important resource for generations to come.”

Governor Bullock offered his recommendation for Mr. Towe in a letter of nomination to U.S. Department of Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke. The letter is attached. 

“I am honored by Governor Bullock’s nomination,” Mr. Towe said. “The Governor and I share a commitment to protect Montana and our country’s national parks and to make sure they are sustained for our children and grandchildren.”

The National Park System Advisory Board “advises the Director of the National Park Service and the Secretary of the Interior on matters relating to the National Park Service, the National Park System, and programs administered by the National Park Service, including the administration of the Historic Sites, Buildings, and Antiquities Act; the designation of national historic landmarks and national natural landmarks; and the national historic significance of proposed national historic trails.” Currently, no Montanans serve on the National Park System Advisory Board.
