MONTANA – Governor Steve Bullock today announced that the Kauffman Foundation, a leading research organization specializing in economic growth and entrepreneurship, has ranked Montana as the top state for entrepreneurship for the fourth year in a row.

“Montana continues to lead the nation in ensuring that entrepreneurs and small businesses have the tools and resources they need to grow and expand and create good-paying jobs, putting more hard-working Montanans to work and making our strong economy even stronger,” said Governor Bullock. “This ranking is the result of responsible decisions made by Republicans and Democrats working together to keep our state great for future generations.”

Since taking office in 2013, Governor Bullock has worked to create an environment for small businesses and entrepreneurs to grow and thrive. Through the Main Street Montana Project, Governor Bullock has cut red tape and increased opportunities for Montana businesses, put more Montanans to work through job training and apprenticeship programs, increased the promotion of made-in-Montana products and businesses, and invested in research and services that benefit Montana residents, businesses, and industries across the state.

Under Governor Bullock’s leadership, the State of Montana is consistently ranked in the top ten for innovation and entrepreneurship, business climate, tax climate, and income growth.
