MONTANA – Governor Steve Bullock today announced a clean audit opinion of the 2016 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). This announcement comes after the Montana Department of Administration presented Governor Steve Bullock a public letter informing him of the clean CAFR.
“Montanans expect and deserve a transparent and effective government,” said Governor Bullock. “Today’s report reflects my administration’s strong commitment to ensure Montana remains one of the most transparent states in the country and is always open and accountable to the people it serves.”
In the letter from Department of Administration Director John Lewis, he stated, “I am pleased to communicate a clean audit opinion for Montana’s 2016 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). The CAFR team is committed to its role and has established a rigorous schedule to ensure continuing success. I am confident this effective team of professionals will repeat its focused and effective efforts in the years ahead.”
